Mullins attended the public schools in rural South Carolina and understands that our public schools are crucial for long term job growth. He’ll work with our teachers, parents and principals to improve public education by cutting class size, returning discipline to the schools, and ensuring that money goes into the classrooms -- not the bureaucracy. Mullins’ commitment to improving our state is rooted in his upbringing in small town South Carolina. Faith in South Carolina Mullins was raised in Walterboro, SC where he learned the values of hard work, faith and family. Sunday mornings in church with his family are among Mullins’s favorite childhood memories. As a young man in Walterboro, Mullins saw firsthand what happened to families who didn’t have anyone to fight for them. At an early age, he resolved to spend his career fighting for families who were being left behind. Making it His Business to Protect South Carolinians With the help of South Carolina Student loans, Mullins earned a degree from Wofford College and worked his way through the University Of South Carolina School Of Law. After studying directly under a Judge, Mullins took a risk with some borrowed money and started his own business in 1999. Mullins dedicated himself to fighting for South Carolina families, regardless of their political party or income. Starting with a single client, Mullins helped build a successful law firm in Charleston. Since then, Mullins has spent more than a decade fighting for working families all over South Carolina who have nobody else to turn to. Involvement in Public Service Mullins has seen first hand how the failed politics of recent times have hit South Carolina families. Hard working South Carolinians facing tough times have turned to Mullins for help throughout his career. Mullins is running for people like them – because they deserve a Governor who will stand up for South Carolina families and focus like a laser beam on recruiting jobs.
